Sears I Can Swim! Programs
The YWCA - Fitness on 5th is proud to launch Sears I Can Swim: a learn-to-swim program for all ages that focuses on freestyle, breaststroke, backstroke, and butterfly and ensures the success of all swimmers. This program has no pass/fail approach, every swimmer is sure to have a positive swimming experience!

Bronze Medallion
Bronze Medallion teaches an understanding of the lifesaving principles
embodied in the four components of water rescue education -- judgment,
knowledge, skill and fitness.
Rescuers learn tows, carries and release methods in preparation for challenging rescues of increased risk. Lifesavers learn to respond to
increasingly complex resuscitation situations involving CPR, conscious
and unconscious victims with an obstructed airway. Lifesavers develop
stroke efficiency and endurance in a timed swim.
Pre-requisite: 13 years of age

Bronze Cross
Bronze Cross is designed for lifesavers who want the challenge of more
advanced training including an introduction to safe supervision in aquatic
facilities.
Bronze Cross teaches the difference between lifesaving and lifeguarding,
the principles of emergency procedures and teamwork. Lifesavers learn
how to rescue a spinal-injured victim and a pulseless victim.
Bronze Cross is the prerequisite award for all advanced training programs
in lifesaving, lifeguarding and leadership.

Standard First Aid and CPR
Comprehensive First Aid & CPR techniques for those who need training for work requirements, or who want more knowledge to respond to
emergencies in the workplace or home. The course covers a variety of topics from basic (such as cardiovascular and breathing emergencies, CPR Level A, prevention of disease transmission) to in-depth topics, such as sudden medical conditions and injuries to the head and spine.

Introducing Sport Modules!
Once children have completed Stage 3 of I CAN SWIM or AQUAQUEST 8, they can further their aquatic experience by taking a sport module. These classes give kids the experience of other water activities and are loads of fun!
I Can Swim Fast
Love swimming? Want to increase speed and improve technique while participating in challenging games, drills and swimming longer and harder in the pool? I CAN SWIM FAST will improve your child’s fitness level and build up their confidence in swimming.
This program is for ages 8 to 16 years.

I Can Synchro
